The week before we went on vacation, we photographed family portraits for the Groom family at there home here in Fonthill.
I always love it when our families incorporate something special and unique in their portraits, and for the Groom family, their portraits are even that much more personal! They have a beautiful home and a beautiful backyard, and so what better background for their family portraits than their own property!
Enjoy a few of our favourites ...

Up next on the blog today are the great guys from JMR Logics. We went just up the street from the studio here in Fonthill for some non-traditional, characteristic business portraits. We were stoked with how everything came out!
I photographed Adam and Julie's wedding in 2009, and one of their employees, Brad, has been one of my best buddies since as long as I can remember.
Check out John, Brad and Adam.

I love kids and I have always connected well with kids. Maybe it's because I am just a big kid at heart or maybe it's because I am a total goof-ball and kids can relate to that.
At Natalie and Fred's wedding this past weekend, I really had a fun time with Fred's two nieces. They were gorgeous little girls, full of laughter, excitement and joy.

Throughout the last few years, running my business, buying our house, planning our wedding, building an addition, and so on, I have come used the services of quite a number of local businesses. From real estate agent, home inspection, lawyer and accountant, to landscaper, insurance agent, stair manufacturer, carpet installer, electrician and general contractor, I have come in contact with a TON of business owners and service providers.
It is unfortunate to say that I have had my share of negative experiences, whether it be a service provider not following through on what he or she promised, to a business owner providing lousy customer service and not setting proper expectations with me. I feel like in the last 3 or 4 years, through all of this, I have learned a lot about life and a lot about the do's and don'ts of running a service-based business.
In comes Boyd Automotive. Stu, the owner of Boyd Automotive, recently joined our BNI Chapter, and so when I started hearing weird sounds coming from my brakes, I turned to Stu and his gang.
I want to share my story, because so many people are quick to complain when something goes wrong, but very few are quick to praise when something goes right. Check "Read More", below, to see the whole story!

A couple of weeks ago, I spent the morning at The Cooperators, Vern Furtney Agency, in St. Catharines, for a portrait session. Vern is my insurance agent, and he was in need of some updated photographs of the agency, the staff, and the building.
Being that I am a client of Vern's, I can speak of his agency and their service from a frist-hand basis. I recommend them, without hesitation, to every one that I know, because of their exceptional customer service, high-quality products and, most importantly, their ability to simplify the sometimes over-complicated insurance world.
Vern's agency is located in a renovated, historic old building. It is a beautiful agency, and it was a joy to photography - so much character!
Enjoy these few images.
