Interview with Tim Denis from 610 CKTB about Boudoir Photography

Boudoir photography is a style of photography that I have blogged about and spoken about many times before. Typically, when a client hires me to photograph a boudoir session for them, the images are created for them and their eyes only, and therefore, it never sees the light of this blog.

I recently photographed a boudoir session for Cassaundra, and she gave me permissions to use a few of the images on the blog, so I thought that I would share a few of the images.

I also just finished up a radio interview with Tim Denis from 610 CKTB in St. Catharines, where he interviewed me, briefly, about my accomplishments as a photographer, and we also briefly touched on boudoir photography.

I recently was accredited in "Boudoir Photography" by the Professional Photographers of Canada, so the interview couldn't have come at a better time!

Below are a few of Cassaundra's favourite images, as well as the audio clip from my interview with Tim Denis. Check it out!

A prequel to "Floral Friday"

For the past few weeks, we have partnered up with local florist, Jessica Dreyer from Fleurish Design Studio, for some co-op marketing. Jessica has been bringing by a fresh bouquet of flowers every week, to keep the studio looking fresh, fun and vibrant.

Our couples have been loving the arrangements that she's been bringing by; so unique and so themed for this time of the year!

Check out this week's floral arrangement. Jess is bringing them by every Friday, so we are going to make it a routine to have a blog post every Friday, titled "Floral Friday" where I'll post images of the arrangement for the week that Jess brings by.

If you are a bride getting married, planning an event, or would just like some fresh florals to decorate your home, be sure to check out Jess's website, and give her a call for more details!

Emily: It's Chic!

I have had the opportunity to mentor a local photography-college student, Jennie Rorison, several times throughout the summer. Jennie is going to school hoping to further her education in photography and one day become a full-time professional photographer.

Last week, Jennie and I went out with the oh-so-gorgeous Emily Jansen for some photo-tips, lessons and one-on-one critiquing. We had a great time and Jennie learned a heap-loads!

Check out a few of the photographs that I was able to create.

Abby and Kate: It's Chic!

I get such a thrill out of photographing something different, something that I have never photographed before. I find that it gives me a real creative rush when I encounter something new and have to get artistic with it, while at the same time, adapting to the change of scenery.

This was exactly the case on Friday, when I got together with Abby and Kate for a portrait session for their new company. I have photographed both Abby and Kate before (Abby, more than once), and I always love getting together with clients again. Abby and Kate recently started up their own company, through which they teach dance and dance at bars and nightclubs. Here's the only caveat, though - they are "dancing" while suspended from straps, sometimes as high as 10 or 15 feet in the air.

I know - unreal, isn't it?

We had the portrait session at the brand-new Vice Lounge, in Niagara Falls. I'd like to send out a quick, personal thank-you to Mike Drolias, one of the owners of Vice Lounge for allowing us the use of his space (and time) on Friday. It was the perfect location for this kind of session, and I am really looking forward to working with Mike and the guys on some future projects, as well.

I'd also like to thank Jaime and the lovely ladies at Textures Hair Salon, who did a bang-up job with Abby and Kate's hair and make-up. I love collaborating with such amazing and creative artists - they really help make the images go from great to amazing.

Without further adieu, check out some of these images and tell me what you think in the Comments section, below!

Enjoy!
