We go out with every single one of our bride-and-groom-to-be's for an "It's Love" session - traditionally known as engagement portraits.
Why do we call them "It's Love" sessions, though? Becuase they aren't just necessarily about getting "engagement portraits", but instead, they're about capturing who you are as a couple, and capturing the love that you share with each other. It's about catching all those cute little moments that you have when you think that no one is watching. It's about "stopping to smell the flowers" and really feeling the love that you have for each other. The name "It's Love", therefore, seemed most appropriate.
Our bride-and-groom-to-be's really find that their "It's Love" session is a great time to reconnect and to fall in love all over again. We were thinking, though - "Hey, engaged couples aren't the only couples who share a special love with each other, every couple does!" And so, in an attempt to encourage other couples to experience these sessions, our "It's Love" mini-sessions were born!
On an "It's Love" mini-session, we will spend an hour and take some really special portraits of you being yourselves.
Yesterday, we had our first ever "It's Love" mini-session day. We had a bunch of amazing couples, who were all very clearly in love, come out for a fun, 1-hour portrait session.
Here's some of our favorites so far ... enjoy 'em!

Al and I had an AMAZING time hanging out with Karli and Stu for their engagement session! Like I've mentioned a million times before, we totally love doing something special with our couples for their engagement photos, something that is unique to them.
Karli and Stu are both big boaters, and they actually own their own boat in Port Dalhousie. So why not go out on the boat for their engagement portraits? Sounds perfect to me!
Karli and Stu are just finalizing all of the details for their wedding next year in Turks and Caicos, and it looks like we'll be joining them for that, too!
Check out some of these shots - so awesome!

On Friday night, Al and I drove up to Burford to meet up with the lovely Erin and Levi for their engagement session. Erin and Levi's parents both live on a farm, and the house that they bought for themselves is also on a farm. It was so neat to hang out on their farms and wander around all the crops, trails, creeks and buildings for their engagement photos. That's got to be my favorite part of the engagement session - making it all about THEM and making it as unique as possible.
Erin and Levi are an incredible couple and we had such a great time with them on Friday. We can't wait for their wedding in a few months!

Last Wednesday, with the photography class that I teach, we went out to Fireman's park to talk about posing, lighting, and all sorts of other fun topics! I thought that I would post some of the images that I was able to snap in between teaching and helping, myself.
Hope that you enjoy them! Big thanks to Chrissy and Steve for modeling for us!

I have a confession to make. I absolutely LOVE engagement sessions! They are the best thing in the world! They are so much fun - we always have an amazing time, and it's a great opportunity to get some natural, relaxed and really romantic images.
What made this engagement session even more amazing was that it was with my good friends, Mike and Robin. I went to university with both Mike and Robin, and was friends with them back when they both started dating. So when they asked me to do an engagement shoot for them, I was totally thrilled!
Mike and Robin are getting married this July, and the week after the wedding, they are picking up and moving all the way to Australia! Mike is going to be getting his Master's degree, over there, and Robin will be working full-time. What a crazy bunch these guys are!
Anyway, enough rambling! Check out some of these photos ... I love 'em!!
