We are photographers because we like to be BEHIND the camera. We take great pride and joy in photographing others and in creating the memories and capturing the moments for others. One of the ironic things about being a photographer, though, is that we rarely have photographs taken of ourselves, because we're always behind the camera!

Imagine that in other industries.Imagine a hairdresser who had un-cut, long hair? Or an insurance broker who didn't have insurance himself? What about an Audi car salesperson who drives a Honda? Sounds pretty absurd, right? It's equally as absurd for a photographer to not have some great portraits of him/her and their family!

Al and I had the pleasure of being photographed and having great images created of the two of us, recently, throughout our engagement and at our wedding. It is great to have these images hanging in our home, now, and it really gives us a new perspective on what our clients experience.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing fellow photographer, Shawn Taylor, of NiagaraProPhotos.com, his lovely wife Nadine, and their dog, Zander. Shawn and Nadine hadn't had photographs taken together ever since their wedding, a few years ago, so they thought that it was due time.

Last week, we finished off the "wedding" chapter of Michelle and Matt's photographic journey with us. Michelle found this AWESOME barn up in Halton Region, and it was the perfect location for a trash-the-dress.

Last week, I got together with Jemma and Kyle (and Dexter) for an engagement portrait session. Jemma and Kyle are getting married in Mexico next year, so this was their chance to have some really nice professional fall portraits taken to celebrate this special time in their lives!

Carline and Brennan are fun, full of joy, and totally in love. I photographed their engagement portraits last week, in downtown Burlington, and we had a great time wandering around Village Square, Downtown Burlington and down by the lake.
