One of the things that we pride ourselves in the ability to make our couples feel comfortable in front of the camera. It's not every day that you get all dolled up and are asked to "interact" and be "romantic" (public display of affection) with your significant other, all while having this giant camera and lens pointed at you. Having gone through it myself, I can relate to the slight uncomfortable feeling. That is exactly why it is our goal to be-friend all of our couples, build a lasting relationship with them, and make them feel at ease in front of our camera. That way, when it comes time to our portrait sessions, we are like "a friend with a camera". I think that that is the biggest reason that we have so many of our couples ask us to be part of their lives with their maternity portraits, newborn portraits, and family portraits.

For Mel and Kris, this all came very easy. Mel is Al's cousin, and as such, I have been hanging out with her and Kris now ever since they started dating!

Mel and Kris are tying the knot next year, at John Michael's, and we're really looking forward to the wedding! Al is actually in the wedding party, so I guess I'll be flying solo!

I am honoured to be a part of their special day, and I am happy to be the photographer to be documenting this special time in their lives.

It is always so special to be welcomed as part of the lives of our couples' whose wedding we have photographed. We love having the opportunity to spend time and document our couples as their lives take them in new and exciting directions.

We photographed Michelle and Mike's wedding in 2008, and we were ecstatic to hear that they are expecting their first born this December. I had a great time (although we got cut a bit short with the rain) photographing their maternity session at Balls Falls last week.

I blogged the other day about the important of photographers having portraits taken of themselves with those who are important to them in their lives. I had the pleasure of spending some time with Rodrigo and Andrea the other day for an "It's Love" portrait session.

Rodrigo is a very talented photographer in Toronto, and I was honoured when he asked me to be the photographer to photograph him and his wife, Andrea.

This past Sunday, I spent a couple of hours with Dave and Victoria on a very unique engagement session. Dave and Victoria are big on the outdoors, and do a lot of camping, hiking, kayaking, and so on. The woods, the trails and the waterfalls are all a part of their relationship, and something that they really enjoy together.

We went for a hike to Short Hills, in Fonthill, where Dave proposed to Victoria, and to say that it was stunning would be an understatement! The colours, the temperature and the atmosphere were all perfect, and it set an amazing atmosphere for an ideal engagement session!
